Azure DevOps Server pull requests in Rider, on servers older than 2022.1
Rider 2026.2 creates, reviews, votes on and completes Azure DevOps pull requests by itself. On your own server, that needs REST API version 7.1 or later, which means Azure DevOps Server 2022.1 or later. On Azure DevOps Server 2022 before 2022.1, Server 2020, Server 2019 and Team Foundation Server 2018, Rider 2026.2 shows "Invalid token" (the token itself may be fine), and the Rider 2026.3 early access builds say instead that the server is not supported (RIDER-141288).
Azure DevOps Pull Requests, a plugin by Lesstep, works with these servers in Rider, and in IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm and the other JetBrains IDEs 2024.1 or later. The review inbox is free; with Pro you vote, comment and complete.

REST API versions: Microsoft's table of server versions in the Azure DevOps REST API reference. Rider: RIDER-141288 (servers with REST API 7.0 or lower) and the Rider 2026.2 help, which names no minimum server version. Our tests: freshly installed Express editions of each server, October 15–16, 2026. Checked October 23, 2026.
Check your server's version
Sign in to the server in a browser and open your collection's address followed by /_apis/projects?api-version=7.1, for example http://tfs.example.local:8080/tfs/DefaultCollection/_apis/projects?api-version=7.1.
A list of projects means REST API 7.1 or later: Rider's built-in support can reach the server.
A server older than 2022.1 answers "The latest REST API version this server supports is 7.0." (or 6.1, 6.0, 5.1…), and TFS 2018 shows a "Page not found" page.
In Rider with this plugin
- Install Azure DevOps Pull Requests from Settings | Plugins | Marketplace.
- Open a solution cloned from the server: the plugin reads the server and the collection from the Git remote.
- Create a personal access token on the server with the Code (Read & write) scope and enter it in Settings | Tools | Azure DevOps Pull Requests. It is kept in the IDE's password safe, apart from Rider's own Azure DevOps account.
- The plugin finds the server's REST version by itself (4.1 on TFS 2018, up to 7.0 on Server 2022); there is nothing to set. It uses the IDE's proxy and certificate settings.
- Pull requests waiting for your vote appear in the Azure PRs tool window on the right: from one repository, the whole project or every project of the collection.
- The older servers lack a few things, such as draft pull requests on TFS 2018: what TFS 2018 and Server 2019 do not have. Git repositories only; TFVC is not covered.

If your server is 2022.1 or later
Start with Rider's built-in support: it needs no plugin and comes with Rider. Comments in the editor and the diff are in the Rider 2026.3 early access builds (RIDER-27606). This plugin still works there, if you prefer one review inbox across many repositories.
