Azure DevOps Pull Requests
A free inbox for Azure DevOps pull requests across all your repositories, in IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm, Rider and the other JetBrains IDEs: what is waiting for your vote, and what changed since you last looked. Cloud or on-premises Azure DevOps Server 2020+. No AI, no telemetry.
Get it on JetBrains Marketplace · reading is free, Pro has a 30-day trial
Coming from Microsoft's Azure DevOps plugin, which stops at IDE 2025.2? Compare the options for 2025.3 and later.
Review inbox
- Pull requests waiting for your vote, from the repositories you have open, the whole project, or every project of the organization
- Each row shows what is new to you (new, new commits, new activity), votes, open comments and when it last changed
- A notification when a new review request arrives (the list refreshes every 5 minutes while it is open)
- Multi-repository projects: every Azure DevOps clone in the project is listed, not only the first one
Reviewing
- All changed files in one diff window, fetched from Azure DevOps (nothing to fetch locally); step through them file by file
- Mark files as viewed; a later push that changes a file clears its mark, and files changed since your last visit are flagged
- Comment threads appear in the diff gutter; comment on the selected lines straight from the diff
- Open threads first, resolved ones folded away; reply, resolve and reactivate
- Branch policies in words: required approvals (including "the most recent pusher's approval does not count"), builds, comment resolution, work items; run a failed or expired build again
Finishing
- Approve, approve with suggestions, wait for author, or reject
- Complete with your merge type (merge, squash, rebase, semi-linear), or set auto-complete to finish when the policies pass
- Publish a draft, abandon, check out the source branch, or create a pull request from your current branch
Free and paid
Free: the review inbox, diffs, viewed marks, discussions and branch policies. Paid, with a 30-day free trial: vote, comment, reply, resolve, complete, auto-complete, publish, run a policy again, abandon and create pull requests. Licenses for individuals and organizations are sold through JetBrains Marketplace; prices are shown there.
Install
Install it from JetBrains Marketplace, or in your IDE open Settings | Plugins | Marketplace and search for Azure DevOps Pull Requests. Then open a repository whose remote is on Azure DevOps and find Azure PRs in the right tool window bar.
Works with
- Azure DevOps Services (
dev.azure.com,*.visualstudio.com) - Azure DevOps Server 2020 or later, on premises, including
/tfs/addresses - HTTPS and SSH remotes; the IDE's proxy settings (including proxy authentication) and trusted certificates
Access token
Public projects can be read without a token. Otherwise create a personal access token in Azure DevOps with Code (Read & write) to vote, comment, complete and create as well, or Code (Read) to read only, and enter it in Settings | Tools | Azure DevOps Pull Requests. The token is kept in the IDE's password safe.
No AI, no cloud of ours
The plugin talks only to your Azure DevOps. Your code and comments are not sent to any AI service or to any server of ours, and there is no telemetry.
