Azure DevOps pull requests in IntelliJ IDEA 2025.3 and later
Microsoft's Azure DevOps plugin was last updated in April 2023 and is marked compatible up to IDE 2025.2; its GitHub repository is archived. If your IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm or Rider is 2025.3 or newer, these are the main options for Azure DevOps pull requests today.
Disclosure: Lesstep makes one of them (Azure DevOps Pull Requests). The others are described from their JetBrains Marketplace pages, JetBrains' documentation and public issue trackers, linked below. Corrections are welcome at support@lesstep.com.
Which one fits
- You use Rider, on Azure DevOps Services or Azure DevOps Server 2022.1 or later: start with the support built into Rider 2026.2. It creates, reviews, votes on and completes pull requests; comments in the editor arrive with 2026.3.
- You want pipelines, boards or AI in the IDE as well: Azd covers the most ground. Azure DevOps Integration is free and also has pipelines and a work-item board.
- You still use TFVC: Azure DevOps Community, a maintained fork of Microsoft's plugin.
- You mainly review, want reading to stay free, and work against Azure DevOps Server 2020 or later behind a company proxy, with no AI and no telemetry: Azure DevOps Pull Requests was built for that.
