Jenkins® builds, Pipeline stages and console logs in IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm and other JetBrains IDEs
JetBrains IDEs do not show Jenkins builds out of the box. None of the plugins bundled with IntelliJ IDEA 2024.1 and 2025.3, the 2026.3 early-access build or Rider 2026.2 is a Jenkins plugin, and the Jenkins requests in JetBrains' issue tracker are about editing Jenkinsfiles: highlighting them (IDEA-158104 and RIDER-64097, both Shelved) and associating them with the Groovy TextMate bundle (IJPL-34222, Submitted). Seeing Jenkins jobs, builds and console logs in the IDE is left to plugins on JetBrains Marketplace. These are the general options for that we found.
Disclosure: Lesstep makes one of them (Pipeline Inbox for Jenkins). The others are described from their JetBrains Marketplace pages (descriptions, change notes, version lists and US prices) and, where linked, their own README. Where those do not say something, this page says "not stated in its description" instead of guessing. Jenkins® is a registered trademark of LF Charities Inc. Pipeline Inbox for Jenkins is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Jenkins project. Corrections are welcome at support@lesstep.com. 日本語
Which one fits
- You want your Jenkins jobs, their builds and logs in the IDE, for free: jenkins-control-plugin is free and by far the most downloaded of these (433,781 downloads); it lists jobs by the server's views, triggers builds with parameters and shows logs, running builds included. Its latest release is from September 3, 2025. Pipeline Inbox (ours) is free for reading: the build list, Pipeline stages, failed tests and console logs.
- You use several Jenkins servers, or want only the builds that concern you: Pipeline Inbox (ours) puts the builds of the jobs you choose from any number of servers in one list, with filters for builds started by you or building your commits, your current branch, and failed builds. jenkins-control-plugin has favorites, the server's views and sorting by status; several servers are not stated in its description or README.
- You want Pipeline stages: Pipeline Inbox (ours) shows each build's stages with status and duration, from the Pipeline: Stage View or the Pipeline Graph View plugin. PipelinePilot shows a stage graph for the Jenkinsfile runs it starts, and Git Flow Helper's change notes list a graphical view of a Jenkins pipeline's execution. Stages are not stated in the descriptions of jenkins-control-plugin or CIclone.
- You want to build, stop or approve from the IDE: jenkins-control-plugin triggers jobs with parameters (free); stopping a build is not described there, and input steps are not stated. Pipeline Inbox (ours) builds with parameters, rebuilds, stops a running build and proceeds or aborts a Pipeline input step (paid, 30-day trial). Easy Jenkins and Git Flow Helper (both free) trigger builds.
- You write Jenkinsfiles and want to try them on a real Jenkins before you commit: PipelinePilot (free, version 0.1.0, IDE 2026.1 and later) validates a Jenkinsfile with the server's linter, runs it in a sandbox on your Jenkins and replays it. For editing help, see the Jenkinsfile plugins in the note below the cards.
- You want a notification when a CI build finishes, on more than one CI service: CIclone (paid) notifies when a build on GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, AWS CodeBuild or GitLab CI/CD finishes and jumps to the failed tests. Jenkins CI Notifier (free) notifies when the build of the current Git commit changes state. jenkins-control-plugin and Pipeline Inbox (ours) notify too.
- You are on IDE 2024.1 to 2025.2: Marketplace offers a version of jenkins-control-plugin and CIclone for 2024.1, 2024.3 and 2025.2 (the versions we checked), and Pipeline Inbox (ours) supports 2024.1 and later. Git Flow Helper's current version starts at 2024.2, Atlassian Assistant at 2025.1, and PipelinePilot at 2026.1.
- You want a Jenkins plugin whose own description says it has no AI features and no telemetry: Pipeline Inbox for Jenkins (Lesstep's). jenkins-control-plugin and CIclone list no AI features and say nothing about telemetry. PipelinePilot lists an AI review through an OpenAI-compatible provider you choose, and Atlassian Assistant's change notes list AI agents and MCP tools.

- Jenkins
- Any number of servers, each with its own user ID and API token in the IDE's password safe; a server under a path (https://example.com/jenkins) works, and a Jenkins that lets anyone read works without a token. The IDE's proxy settings and trusted certificates are used. A minimum Jenkins version is not stated on its page.

Smaller or narrower entries also exist. Git Flow Helper (free; version 2.10.3, October 13, 2026, for IDE 2024.2 and later) is a Git Flow branching plugin with a Jenkins section: a CI server per repository, monitoring that starts when you push finished work, live console output with ANSI colours and the token in the IDE's password safe; its latest change notes add a graphical view of a pipeline's execution and triggering builds. Atlassian Assistant (free; IDE 2025.1 and later; version 5.7, September 28, 2026) says it tracks Bitbucket pull requests, Jira issues and Jenkins builds; its description says nothing more about Jenkins, and its change notes list AI agents, MCP tools and Confluence. Jenkins CI Notifier (free; version 1.0.1, IDE 2023.3 and later) watches the Jenkins status of the current Git commit and notifies when it changes. Easy Jenkins (free; IDE 2024.2 and later) triggers a Jenkins pipeline build with a keyboard shortcut. jenkins-debug-address (free; last updated in 2020) reads a remote debug address from a job's log, and Bolt Server Tools opens the Jenkins job of a branch for one company's servers. JenkinsHelper, Jenkins-Tools, JenkinsWithRetry, Qianmi-Tools, BuildWatcher and CruiseWatcher (all free, last updated between 2008 and 2022) are not offered by Marketplace for IDE 2024.1, 2024.3, 2025.2 or 2026.2. Plugins for editing or checking Jenkinsfiles (Jenkinsfile and Jenkinsfile Pro, both paid; Jenkinsfile Linter Offline, paid; two named Jenkins Pipeline Linter; Jenkinsfile Syntax Highlighter; PipelineLens; Jenkinsfile Support; Jenkinsfile Companion; Jenkinsfile Free; Jenkinsfile Validator), Jenkins Development Support (for developing Jenkins plugins) and Jenkins Bridge (for trying TeamCity with your Jenkins jobs) are left out; this page keeps to general tools for seeing Jenkins builds in the IDE.
