Pull Request Inbox for Bitbucket
A free inbox for Bitbucket Cloud and Data Center (beta) pull requests across your workspace, in IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm, Rider and the other JetBrains IDEs: what is waiting for your review, and what changed since you last looked. No AI, no telemetry.
Get it on JetBrains Marketplace · reading is free, Pro has a 30-day trial
Review inbox
- Pull requests waiting for your review, from the repositories you have open or from the whole workspace (Cloud: its 30 most recently updated repositories; Data Center: every pull request you take part in on the server)
- Each row shows what is new to you (new, new commits, new activity), approvals and change requests, comments and when it last changed
- A notification when a new review request arrives (the list refreshes every 5 minutes while it is open)
- Multi-repository projects: every Bitbucket clone in the project is listed, not only the first one
Reviewing
- All changed files in one diff window, fetched from Bitbucket (nothing to fetch locally); step through them file by file
- Mark files as viewed; a later push that changes a file clears its mark (files it did not touch keep theirs), and files changed since your last visit are flagged
- Comment threads appear in the diff gutter; comment on the selected lines straight from the diff
- Open threads first, resolved ones folded away; reply, resolve and reopen
- Merge checks in words: approvals still needed, successful builds, open tasks, conflicts; and the builds on the pull request, with links
Finishing
- Approve or request changes, and take either back
- Merge with a strategy the branch allows (merge commit, squash, fast-forward and the others), your own commit message, and closing the source branch
- Decline, check out the source branch, or create a pull request (or a draft) from your current branch
Free and paid
Free: the review inbox, diffs, viewed marks, discussions, merge checks, builds and checking out the source branch. Paid, with a 30-day free trial: approve, request changes, comment, reply, resolve, merge, decline and create pull requests. Licenses for individuals and organizations are sold through JetBrains Marketplace; prices are shown there.
Install
Install it from JetBrains Marketplace, or in your IDE open Settings | Plugins | Marketplace and search for Pull Request Inbox for Bitbucket. Then open a repository whose remote is on bitbucket.org or on your Bitbucket Data Center (set its address in the plugin settings) and find Bitbucket PRs in the right tool window bar.
Works with
- Bitbucket Cloud (
bitbucket.org): HTTPS and SSH remotes, including SSH over port 443 - Bitbucket Data Center 8.9 or later: HTTPS remotes, SSH on port 7999, or any remote of the server you set in the settings. Data Center support is in beta: if something does not work on your server, write to support@lesstep.com
- The IDE's proxy settings (including proxy authentication) and trusted certificates, for self-signed or company certificates
API token
Public repositories can be read without a token. Otherwise create an Atlassian API token with scopes for Bitbucket: write:pullrequest to approve, comment and merge as well, and read:pullrequest, read:repository and read:user to read (how to create one). Enter your Atlassian email and the token in Settings | Tools | Pull Request Inbox for Bitbucket. A repository, project or workspace access token works too: leave the email empty. Both are kept in the IDE's password safe.
Bitbucket Data Center: enter the server's address and a personal HTTP access token (how to create one) with Repository write to approve, comment and merge, or Repository read to read. Project and repository tokens work too (leave the username empty) but cannot merge: a merge creates a commit, which Atlassian allows only to a user with an e-mail address. The token is kept in the IDE's password safe and sent only to that server.
No AI, no cloud of ours
The plugin talks only to Bitbucket Cloud and, if you use one, your Bitbucket Data Center server. Your code and comments are not sent to any AI service or to any server of ours, and there is no telemetry. Bitbucket is a trademark of Atlassian; this plugin is not affiliated with or endorsed by Atlassian.
